FRC holds retriever training classes every year beginning in late winter and running through spring. They include indoor and outdoor sessions.
REQUIREMENTS: Retrievers must be 3 months or older (at the first class) with current vaccinations. One dog per handler.
We will be instructing the owner/handlers on the basics of starting your dog for hunting and field work. This includes basic obedience, teaching to retrieve, and preparing the dog for more advanced training. The outdoor sessions will include land and water work (if water is warm enough).
Class size is limited and preference is given to purebred dogs approved by AKC to run licensed retriever hunt tests (see list below). If space allows, other gun/bird dog breeds will be accepted.
Class information and online registration will be available here on our website, usually right after the new year in January. If you are a current member of FRC, you will received advance notice of the classes. Hope to see you at the classes!
