2008 AKC Retriever Hunt Tests and
Owner-Handler Qualifying Stake!

June 13, 14, & 15, 2008

Dear Retriever Enthusiasts,

The Fairbanks Retriever Club will be holding two AKC licensed hunting tests with an Owner-Handler Qualifying Stake on June 13 & 14 and June 14 & 15, 2008 at the Chena Flood Control Project, vicinity of Fairbanks, Alaska. We encourage you to enter!

The schedule is:

Friday, June 13, 2008 Master #01 and Senior #01 Hunting Tests
Saturday, June 14, 2008 Master#02 and Junior #01 Hunting Tests
Sunday, June 15, 2008 Senior #02 and Junior #02 Hunting Tests
Sunday, June 15, 2008 Owner-Handler Qualifying Stake (Field Trial)

You must complete one entry form per dog for each test or stake entered. SIGNED entries and entry fees must be received by 6:00 p.m., Monday, June 9, 2008. You can verify the receipt of your entries by calling Tammy Wilkerson at 488-1264. Late entries will not be accepted. The drawing will take place at 6:30 p.m., Monday June 9, 2008 at 3175 Mellow Woods Drive, North Pole, Alaska. Refunds will be granted to bitches in season and ill or injured dogs with a note from a veterinarian. Dogs scratched prior to the June 9 deadline will be refunded in full. Other refunds will not be granted. You may also enter and pay your premium online (see links at top of page).

The test grounds will be located at the Chena Flood Control Project, southeast of Fairbanks, Alaska. A map to the grounds can be found on the reverse side of this letter. The Corps of Engineers requires that we keep the gate to the flood control closed and locked at all times during the tests, so there will be a padlock on the gate with the combination “7777”. Please close and lock the gate behind you as you come through. There is a nice campground further down the dike by the river. There are also several dog-friendly hotels in the Fairbanks area. Please be considerate if staying in one of these facilities and clean up after your animal. You are a representative of the sport of hunt tests, field trials, and the AKC when you are at the event. Please leave a good impression!

As usual, FRC will host a tailgate potluck at the end of Saturday’s tests, usually mid-afternoon. If you’re local, please plan to bring a dish to share. If you’re from out-of-town, please come as our guests. It’s the highlight of the weekend! Thank you and we hope to see you in June.
